I read this when it was originally published and thank you for reprinting it here.

Catching up after a crazy 6 weeks...

I hadn't read this, but it rings true in my experience as a consumer. There is an abundance of gorgeous food in Union Square.

There is also an abundance of pretty poor stuff, more in winter.

Thanks so much for posting this!

In reading this for the first time i am personally glad someone other than myself had the guts to tell it like it is . I farm in N.J. and have been a part of the green markets since the early 80's. The way the markets' upper management works their farmer placement and marketing assingments is totally unfair and ridiculous! They have no way of justifing or explaining any of theese decisions made by greenmarket officials. I have been told many years back that if I would wait my time I would have my chance to reclaim my space at the World Trade Center and Union Sq. Well it has been well over a decade and I have not seen any effort on the green markets behalf to do so. There have been several other farms whom have come into the program in the past few years who have been afforded these opportunities before those of us who have been waiting patiently as we fight to keep our family farms! If anyone reading this post has any sugesstions or comments please post your thoughts.
