First of all, my farm-loving friend, Susan, at Farmgirl Fare, sent me the sweetest assortment of Christmas cookies, and I just want to thank her publicly for her incredible kindness. Also: these are probably the best Christmas cookies I've ever had. I am not a cookie fan, particularly, being more of a savory than sweet kinda gal. But. But. But these cookies are so good. The gingersnaps in particular had the perfect crunch and bite. The butter cookies were fabulous. Bob and Logan love love loved the peanut butter drops with the big chocolate chip in the middle. (I gave mine to Bob, since he's wild for peanut butter cookies.)
You will notice that I am writing in the past tense. These cookies are history. I haven't had them all yet, but I am not sharing that chocolate biscotti with anybody. I think I better hide them, in fact.
Farmgirl, you are such a gift in the blogosphere. Thank you for your photos, which inspire me constantly, and let me know when you open your bakery.
And now, a good one from the letter bag...
This just arrived, and I'm sharing it in case
Tana,
First of all, I'd like to compliment you on your Blog - it's wonderful. I discovered it in the list of links on the Beyond Organic website, while listening to the show with Michael Ableman.
As far as the posting from one of your readers about a farm location for a wedding, if they are interested in considering going in the opposite direction, North of the Bay Area, there is Oz Farm in Point Arena, which "specializes" in weddings:
I can't say that I've been there, as I haven't. I met the farm manager at the Nat'l Biodynamic conference this summer, and remembered that he had told me about weddings at Oz.
Perhaps it may be a place that works for the person who inquired.
Peace.
- Scott
Thank you, Scott for that referral.
Finally, IMPORTANT NOTE: The food bloggers global map has been moved: it's here now. PLEASE UPDATE YOUR SITE if you have a link to the food bloggers global map.

Farmgirl is so wonderful. This morning we had the cranberry biscotti, and it was fantastic.
She's got the recipe for chocolate biscotti on her blog: I'll be posting more about all this soon.
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to you both!

Hi there,
Would like to know if you have any suggestions of a farm or winery/vineyard for an outdoor, ecofriendly wedding...perhaps in the big sur, montery, paso robles (anything central and below in california). I would greatly appreciate any recommendations! Oz farm is great, just hoping to find something closer.
Thanks so much!
Tracy
